Hieronymus Bosch and David Lachapelle's fantastic world PDF Print E-mail

What the Gothic painter would have in common with the controversial fashion photographer? At first sight nothing. Bosch is considered the first fantastic artist influencing, subsequently, the expressionism and the surrealist movement. Lachapelle is, on his turn, next to Matthew Barney, one of the most influential representatives of the contemporary surrealist art.

The key word that connects then is fantasy. The art that celebrates the world of the dreams, grotesque, imagination, visions and sensations of a worldly life. Both use the unreal as a powerful weapon, each one with their own techniques, whose main objective is to shock the society. By this way, they can criticize and moralize them.

Everybody still paying attention in the appeals of the Tim festival and one of the shows more expected and commented was Bjork´s. Ok. She can be super cool but the motive of my article here will not be her, but the singer´s husband: Matthew Barney.

As expected of an artist in the century XXI, Barney is multi: does film, videos, installations, sculptures, photographs, illustrations and performances - comes being described as main heir of the perform art of the years 60 and 70. He, however, prefers to title himself as a sculptor and is not aimlessly that the metaphysical hypertrophy and the physical limits of the human body are constant inspirations of his work.

The image charms me. I always try to understand symbols and communication of paintings, editorial, film, illustrations, etc. Like this, I follow always in seeks by the design in the fashion. In the book "The acts of feminine drawing" you can find great super fashionable illustrators. To first thing that attention calls me is like the Japanese (and too oriental) dominate the world of the fashion and arts. I have been already impressed with the big number of them in the first row of fashion shows in London and to special attention for the designers oriental.
